I. Principles of recommendation

1. Due to the limit of the library budget, the library only accepts general titles / periodicals that are following the Policy for Library Collection, Acquisition, and Development of the NTNU library. For all the academic books, graphic novels, comic books, cram school textbooks, and other periodicals, please contact the department office or subject librarian.

2. According to the NTNU library collection development, there is a limit on the number of copies. On principle, western language, Japanese, and Korean books do not have second copies. The copies of the Chinese title shall not exceed three.

3. The library reserved the rights to make decisions or changes to the purchase.

II. Quantity: according to the group categories, the limit of the recommendation for each group is listed below:

1. Student/ staff/ alumni (with library card): Five items per month for each person, or NT5,000 in total principally. The one that meets the aforementioned principle rule first will be applied. All kinds of resources are included in the total amount.

2. Faculty: each person 60 items per semester or NT$60,000 in total expense principally. The one that meets the aforementioned principle rule first will be applied. All kinds of resources are included in the total amount.

III. Timetable for recommendation purchase: purchase recommendation request needs to go through a review, checking the number of copies and the quotation. It will take some time from placing the order to receiving the books. Different resource type has its timetable.

1. Chinese books sourced in Taiwan will take around one and a half months to arrive.

2. Simplified Chinese books, Japanese, Korean, and western languages books will take around two to four months to arrive.

IV. If the patron who makes the recommendation wants to borrow the recommended title, please tick yes in the “Reservation” field and select the pickup place.
